The Immersion Blender!

The immersion blender is a magical tool which gives this soup with no butter, bread or milk or cream that ‘creamy’ texture that is so well, creamy!  If you don’t have one, you can ladle the soup into a food processor to puree it, but again there is something magical about the immersion blender which transforms the texture of the soup into fooling your mouth into thinking that you are enjoying a decadent creamy soup, even though you are basically just eating a bowl of veggies!

The Food Processor!

The food processor is another magical kitchen tool.  So many things can be made quickly with this gadget when it is ready to go just sitting on the counter.  I use it every week making things such as: hummus, salsa, dips & different types of pesto, as well as for chopping, grating, and slicing veggies like carrots.  Though one of the more expensive kitchen tools, it can be used for many things and can save you time and energy and help you quickly prepare fresh ingredients for a last minute delicious meal or snack!

The Mandolin Slicer

The Mandolin Slicer is another magical kitchen tool!  I used it to slice up the Radishes in this recipe.  It is a great, easy and fast way to slice up things super thin and uniformly without worrying about cutting your fingers!  I also use the Mandolin for zucchini, potatoes, mushrooms, large garlic etc.  Mine has 3 settings for different sizes and also a ‘lock’ position to keep it safe for washing and storage.

The Slow Cooker

If you don’t already know, Slow Cookers are yes, magical too.  Throw a few ingredients in the pot in the morning, put it on low heat and move along with your day.  When dinner time rolls around there is something delicious and ready to eat.  Perfect for people like me, read: exhausted by 7pm!  And by the way, you can buy them for as little as $30!
